Kids love to snack, especially when they get home from school. Unfortunately a lot of the go-to snacks are chips, sodas, and sugary treats. Watch the video below to get some good ideas to serve your kids and have available when they get home from school.
– quesadillas (grab two whole wheat tortillas and fill them with black beans, avocados and veggies that your kids will eat with a little bit of low-fat cheese & salsa)
– hummus with pita bread/cut-up veggies ( you can find different flavors of hummus in your local grocery store that may intrigue your kids)
– nuts/trail mix
– make your own popsicles in the freezer
– fruit smoothies (frozen fruit, especially bananas give it a great consistency as well as yogurt and almond milk)
