Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and skim milk are all staples to a healthy diet. What about YOGURT?! Yogurt has many healthy qualities and is yummy too!
- Yogurt comes from milk so you are getting the benefit of dairy nutrients. Yogurt eaters get an extra serving of animal protein, calcium, Vitamin B2 and B12, Potassium and Magnesium.
- Yogurt contains probiotics. Probiotics are the “friendly bacteria.” This bacterium keeps your digestive tract health and regular.
- Yogurt is heart healthy. Consuming fat free or low fat yogurt daily can lower your risk of developing high blood pressure.
Yogurt tip: Stick to plain Greek or regular yogurt and add your own fruit and sweetener (honey, Splenda, Truvia, or agave syrup) in order to avoid added sugar.
